'Thackeray': Movie Review

The larger than life portrayal, the justifying approach, the crisp and clear dialogues, the gripping screenplay, the impeccable Nawazuddin Siddiqui was all that was needed to pull off a 'Thackeray' so well even with the shallowness and predictiveness of content. The film goes to and fro in justifying the policies and character of Thackeray. But the director, Abhijit Panse, seems to be striking a balance in doing that.

Bollywood has a long list of biopics. When we look at the biopics of sportspersons, they are all engrossing because of altogether different reasons. They pull the strings with the audience because of the flavour associated with the nail-biting finish of the matches.

Sandwiched between the two most talked about biopics, 'The Accidental Prime Minister' and the upcoming 'Super 30', 'Thackeray' is indeed a promising one, irrespective of its box office collection in Indian States other than Maharashtra.
